Pengaruh Ukuran Partikel Oksidator Pada Karakteristik Propelan HTPB

ABSTRACT Particle size of the oxidizer Ammonium Perchlorates in propellant will influence the burning rate of propellant. The burning rate may increase by decreasing the average diameter of Ammonium Perch!orates. Several particle size of Ammonium percholrates mixed with the binder HTPB have been investigated to give many data i.e.. the burning rate, tensile strength, modulus elasticity, dencity and hardness. Propellant with particle Size of coarse Ammonium perchlorates (Ap)-100/+120 mesh and fine Ammonium perchlorate (Ap) -200 mesh was selected to be the best diameter particle for polybutadiene propellant. RINGKASAN Ukuran partikel oksidator Ammonium perkhlorat dalam propelan akan mempengaruhi kecepatan pembakaran propelan. Kecepatan pembakaran akan naik jika diameter Amonium perkhlorat turun. Beberapa ukuran partikel Amonium perkhlorat yang dicampur dengan binder HTPB di coba untuk mendapatkan data antara lain; kecepatan pembakaran, tensile strength, modulus elastisitas, densitas dan kekerasan. Dari hasil percobaan, propelan dengan ukuran partikel Ap kasar -100/+120 mesh dan Ap halus -200 mesh adalah yang terbaik ditinjau dari sifat fisik dan mekanik propelan.Hlm. 1-7: il.; 30 c
