Identifikasi Kejadian Monsun Ekstrim Di Pulau Jawa Dan Sekitarnya

Rainfall is elements of climate in Indonesia has the highest variability compared to the other climatic elements. The main factors causing seasonal climate variations at Jawa island is monsoon phenomenon. Comparison between the amount of rainfall in the Asian monsoon for period of December,January,and February relatively is larger than the Australian monsoon for period of June, July, and August in Java island. The TRMM 3B43v6 satellite data over the period 1998-2010 as the main data is used in this study. While ONI (Oceanic Nino Index) and DMI (Dipole Mode Index) data is used as supporting data. This research was conducted to investigate the characteristics of the distribution of rainfall during the monsoon period, and to identify the extreme monsoon events at Java island. The results showed that the incidence of extreme looks the samebetween the Asian monsoon and the Australian monsoon in Java occurred in the period 1999, 2002, 2006 and 2008. The results also showed that the incidence of extreme monsoon seems related to the global phenomenon of ENSO events in the equatorial Pacific Ocean and the IOD phenomenon in the equatorial Indian Ocean.Hal. 172-18
