Globally, the negative impacts of global climate change occurs in various sectors. One of Indonesia's agricultural sector is highly dependent on seasonal conditions. The shift of season has resulted flood and drought in some areas has led toreduced agricultural productivity. The study was done in order to determine the early dry season and the rainy season index based on satellite data for areas of rice production centers in West Java. The main data used are the TRMM 3B42 satellite data has a spatial resolution of 0.25o x 0.25o and temporal resolution of 10 daily using Standard Precipitation Index (SPI) methods. The results of data processing during the period 1998 to 2010 in the areas of rice production centers in West Java are generally derived early dry season and rainy season index which varies between the range of values of SPI 0.26 until 0.32Hal. 148-15
