This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of discovery learning model to improve the skils of the evaluative thinking and concept mastery of acid-base Arrhenius. The method used is quasi experimental with pretes-postes non-equivalen control grup design. The population of this research was all students grade XI in science class of SMA Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung. The samples were taken by cluster random sampling technique then obtained XI IPA4 as experimental class and XI IPA5 as control class.
