This study aimed to describe the discovery learning effectiveness in improving fluency thinking skills. This study used two classes as the control and experimental class which derived from four classes of the MIA of the 11th grade at SMAN 5 Metro 2014/2015 academic year by using purposive sampling. Method in this study was a quasi experimental with non equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The results showed that the average n-Gain of fluency thinking skills for the control and experimental class were 0.61 and 0.77, respectively.
