LANDUSE CHANGE ANALYSIS IN METRO WATERSHED 1994 TO 2015

In recent years, there has been over the function of the massive land mainly in the area of the watershed. As a result of landuse changes and not in accordance with the principle of sustainable development, we can meet the phenomenon of land degradation and depletion or land damage without conservation efforts. This is because the lack of availability of land, especially in urban areas which cause many problems. E.g. land uses in the watershed area as it happens in big cities as settlements. Other causes of landuse in the watershed are due to the incompatibility of landuse plan that has been set by the local government. This research is located in Metro watershed with area of 29752.363 ha, which covers three areas, namely the administration of Malang Regency, Malang City and a part of Batu. The purpose of this study is to determine the type of landuse in Metro watershed, determine the land changes and the factors that influence the occurrence of landuse changes in the Metro watershed. The research design was a descriptive survey research. The data used in this study are primary data of landuse data and secondary data from Landsat satellite imagery. The analysis used in this research is Supervised Classification and for the landuse changes using Object-Based Image Analysis (OBIA). The results of this study discovered six types of land use, constructed land 7611.75 ha, forest 7209.19 ha, agriculture 20903.88 ha, shrubs 769.80 ha, moor 565.35 ha and water body 1467.00 ha. Landuse changes in Metro watershed during the years 1994 to 2015 is the addition of a spaciously constructed land area of 3170.60 ha and shrubs covering 320.42 ha. While land has decreased or diminished, forest 116.47 ha, agriculture 2285.90 ha, and moor 39.66 h. The factors that most influence the improvement of constructed land in the period 2004 to 2015 is that the population growth rate and population density 0.258 - 0.722 in 2004. For the year 2015 the population growth rate and population density 0.324 - 0.782
