[Abstract]There is a very small but finite amplitude periodic soliton (an infinitesimal periodic soliton) in the DS II equation with r > 0 which interacts resonantly with a finite-amplitude periodic soliton under certain conditions. It is shown that these interactions always become parameter-sensitive
