To enhance concrete toughness and fatigue durability for structural applications, the use of discrete short fibers is effective. Although the use of fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) is continuously increasing in various civil engineering infrastructures, it is still limited with respect to its design codes for FRC structural members. The performance of FRC is related to the post-cracking behavior depending on fiber type, aspect ratio, volume fraction of fiber, and fiber distribution and orientation. The fiber distribution and orientation are affected by boundary conditions of the specimen formwork.
