<Survey>Report of biological research on wild birds in Yaeyama Islands, Okinawa prefecture,Japan

[Synopsis] Biological research in Yaeyama islands （Ishigaki island, Iriomote island, Taketomi island, Kuroshima island and Kohama island） was carried out from February 28 to March 6 in 2010. As a result of this research, birds were recorded 11 order 26 families 52 species in total. At Ishigaki island, birds were recorded 10 order 22 families 43 species. At Iriomote island, birds were recorded 6 order 16 families 24 species. At Taketomi island, birds were recorded 2 order 2 families 2 species. At Kuroshima island, birds were recorded 4 order 10 families 12 species. At Kohama island, birds were recorded 5 order 12 families 14 species. In these species, Spilornis cheela was a special natural treasure of Japan and Erithacus komadori subsp. was special naturaltreasure of Japan. Moreover, subspecies such as Hypsipetes amaurotis stejnegeri and Parus major nigriloris were able to be confirmed
