This master thesis is focused on the characterization of nanoparticles coming from passenger vehicles and the measurement of those nanoparticles that do not come from the engine. The first part focuses on the impact nanoparticles have on human health, to give the reader a notion on the need to know and regulate its levels on ambient air. The second part develops the knowledge about nanoparticles, like what are they or how are they formed or measured. The third part explains the types of nanoparticles coming from diesel or gasoline engines, to get an overview of the main nanoparticle generator in a vehicle. The fourth part explains the types of nanoparticles coming from brakes and tyres of the vehicle, to get an overview of what is expected ...
