The current project is based on the industrial interest of AMES S.A. on expanding their market possibilities with trochoidal gears. These special gears are the mechanical system of a specific kind of positive displacement pumps called gerotor pumps. The company has been producing trochoidal gears exclusively for automotive field for decades, and this research is aimed to use the technical knowledge and experience acquired so far about designing and manufacturing these components, to develop a micro-trochoidal gear set with applications in different sectors.
