Study and simulation of the flux of people at a cancer hospital

This project aims to analyse the flux of patients in the hall of the biggest cancer hospital of Latin America (Instituto do Câncer do Estado de São Paulo, ICESP) with the purpose of have enough information to create, in an effective way, a fully operational simulation model. This model will be created using the software AnyLogic 6, and its only purpose is being useful to ICESP to foresee and program the counter usage of the hospital’s reception. Thus, the data will be exhaustively analysed in different ways to try to find behaviour patrons of the sample of patients, such as daily, weekly or monthly repetitions, or hourly demand variations. Also, using the statistics software Minitab, it will be found the different distribution that the different parts of the hospital’s hall follow. Amongst these parts can be found the interarrival time of the patients or the time that takes to attend the future patients by the hospital’s workers. After the simulation model is built, it will be proposed a solution that reduces the current waiting time. This solution, although not the optimal, will be analysed to find its bottlenecks so the hospital can know where and when they need, or not, reinforce the servic
