Objective: to determine the effect of the “someone supports a caregiver” nursing intervention on the perceptions of social support and overload with the care of family caregivers of people with chronic illness. Methodology: a quasi-experimental quantitative study with an experimental group and a control group, which was measured before and after the intervention by applying Sherbourne and Stewart’s perceived social support instruments and Zarit Burden Interview.
