This article focuses on the notions of cinematic objectivity and subjectivity in Enrique Juárez’s film Ya es tiempo de violencia as well as in the documentary genre in general. While the documentary is usually associated with the concept of objectivity, we underscore the director’s subjective markings despite the fact the film was entirely made with archival footage.
