This paper reviews the police unification reform in Chile, to identify the conditions that allowed the beginning of the police career, in a context of tensions that had repercussions of the police labor from the period. the unification Law of 1924 approval appears i the conspiracies and military movements´ framework, carried out by the Army against the National Parliament. In a climate of political instability´ part of the military officers held secret meetings and they leaded their protest against to the parliament making great noise with their weapons and interrupting a discussion about the increase of the parlamentary expenses, this is so-called "Ruido de Sables" ("Sabers´ noise").
