Objective: To develop a simulator for training in facet joint injections guided by fluoroscopy and evaluate the learning curve in this procedure in a group of radiology residents. Materials and Methods: Using a human lumbar spine as a model, we developed 5 lumbar vertebrae using methacrylate and plaster. These vertebrae were combined to form a spine model. We used a silicon envelopment to emulate the paravertebral muscles. The spine model was placed in the trunk of a plastic mannequin. We recruited 12 volunteers among radiology residents in our department. Each of these students performed 16 lumbar facet injections in our simulator during a training session.
