The study assessed risk factors for traumatic dental injuries (TDI) using experiences along the life course. A retrospective longitudinal study, including historical clinical data, was conducted on 16‐yr‐old pupils in western Norway. All first‐grade pupils born in 1997 and attending public high schools were invited to participate (n = 5,184). Participants responded to an electronically administered closed‐ended questionnaire (39.6%, n = 2,055). Information on the occurrence of TDI and events during the life course (categorized as socio‐economic, biological, psychosocial, and behavioural indicators) was collected.
