The thesis falls within the framework of the Language Toolkit project, born from the collaboration between the Romagna Chamber of Commerce and the Department of Interpretation and Translation of Forlì. Thanks to the collaboration with the local business Bandini Casamenti, the candidate localized part of the website www.bandinicasamenti from Italian into English. The work is composed of six chapters. The first chapter briefly contextualizes the project, introducing the company, as well as providing a brief overview of the waste management and exports market in Europe. The second chapter presents the internationalization process undertaken by companies in order to enter into foreign markets. After a brief excursus into the history of globalisation, it presents the main phases of internationalization, the strategies usually adopted and the reasons why companies decide to enter foreign markets. The third chapter is a theoretical study on the topic of localization. It includes a brief historical overview of its evolution, an analysis of the GILT model, and a discussion of the relationship between localisation, translation and Translation Studies. The fourth chapter focuses on website localisation, with a discussion of the technical characteristics of websites as well as an overview of the accepted guide lines for writing for the Web. The fifth chapter provides an overview of the documentation and information mining process carried out in preparation for the translation work proper. It presents the assembling of a monolingual Corpus to support terminological research and the analysis of the source website, as well as a contrastive analysis between the source text and comparable English websites. The sixth and final chapter focuses on the actual translation work. It contains a commentary on the translation, where the types of intervention adopted during the translation phase are explained through concrete examples extrapolated directly from the source and the target texts
