A study of the lifecycle of knowledge assets

Although dialogue about knowledge management and intellectual capital often uses the term `knowledge assets, a review of the literature on these topics has failed to reach consensus on a definition, despite examples given in extant literature. Based on a review of the literature and case study research with twelve organisations in the Australian Public Sector, this paper discusses knowledge assets, and preliminary findings on their importance and how their need or otherwise is identified.
