Durch das ständige Wachstum von Anzahl und Bedeutung verfügbarer 3D Modelle, wird auch die inhaltsbasierte Suche auf diesen Modellen immer wichtiger. In dieser Arbeit wird in dem Zusammenhang ein neuer Deskriptor für 3D Modelle definiert, der sogenannte 3DHOG. Dieser basiert auf dem von Dalal et al. im Jahr 2005 vorgestellten HOG-Deskriptor für Bilder 17. Diese Arbeit zeigt, wie dieser auf 3D Modelle übertragen werden kann. Der vorgestellte Ansatz wurde implementiert und seine Eignung für das 3D Model Retrieval evaluiert.
