This thesis deals with the automatic generation of texture tiles based on a given two-dimensional texture sample. By simply stitching the tiles together, arbitrarily sized planes can be tessellated in little time at low storage requirement. To ensure satisfying results, several demands have to be considered: Most essential for a successful tiling is a good boundary handling to prevent visible seams. Among color adjustment, it is a special quest to maintain features beyond the borders. Moreover, the tile should contain enough information about the texture's topology in order to be able to realistically reconstruct it.
