The experiments described in this thesis were undertaken to get a better understanding of the kinetics and biotransformation ofthe nitrofuran furazolidone upon oral administration to swine. Such information forms an essential prerequisite for making anappropriate assessment of the consumer hazards of edible products originating from animals treated with this compound.
