The thermopower and resistivity of a series of Cu1-xZrx alloys have been measured between 2 and 300 K for O. 3 < x <O. 7. The composition dependence of the results cannot be explained on the basis of the simple Ziman liquid-metal model. lnclusion of partia! structure factors in the Faber-Ziman sense considerably improves the agreement with experiment. This improvement is almost entirely due to the "cross" term containing the Cu-Zr partia! structure factor and indicates the crucial role played by this term in calculating the thermopower
