Effect Of The Rate Of Unemployment, Poverty And Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) On The Crime Rate In Province-Province In Indonesia

Crime is behavior that violates the law and social norms. Crime can cause economic, physical, moral and psychological harm. From an economic point of view, crime cause loss in the form of security costs. The aim of this research is to examine the effect of open unemployment, poverty an Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) on the crime rate in Indonesia.This is a quantitative research and falls into explanatory study. The data used in this research were panel data, the combination of time series dan cross section data. This research used secondary data obtained from the book Statistics Indonesia 2009-2013 published by the Central Agency of Statistics (BPS), Indonesia A multiple linier regression analysis was used to analyze the data. The hypothesis were tested using partial test (t test), simultaneous test (F test) and coefficient determinant (R2). The finding of this research indicated that open unemployment had a negative and insignificant correlation with with the crime rate in Indonesia; poverty had a positive and significant correlation with the crime rate in Indonesia; Gross Regional Domestic Product had a positive and significant correlation with the crime rate in IndonesiaKeywords: crime, unemployment, poverty, gross regional domestic produc
