This study aimed to explore factors that encourage students to participate in the class. There two research questions were set to lead the study (1) what are the forms of students’ participation in the class (2) what are the factors that influenced students’ participation in the class. The study conducted at English Language Education Department of Ar-raniry State Islamic University in 2018/2019 academic year. The participants were English students who taking CCU subject. The two classes with different lecturers were selected randomly for collecting data on observation and questionnaire.
