It is becoming increasingly common for Counsellors to be employed within Clinical Psychology Departments. With increased diversity in professions offering psychological therapies it is imperative to establish appropriate referral allocation systems, ensuring that referrals are seen by the most appropriate professional. The current study addressed this issue through a retrospective analysis of CORE outcome measure data obtained pre-therapy, to establish whether there were quantifiable psychometric differences between clients allocated to clinical psychologists and counsellors respectively.
