Keywords: guided inquiry, learning achievement, student perception One effort to improve the quality of education is by learning orientation changes from teacher-centered learning (Behavioristic) a student-centered (constructivist). One approach to learning that involves students in discovering the concept of learning with guided inquiry method. In the guided inquiry method of learning with students actively involved in discovering the basic concepts, so that students more easily understand these concepts and memories of the students on these concepts will survive longer. The aim of the study is to determine: (1) differences in learning outcomes between students taught using guided inquiry method with conventional methods on the material and Nonelectrolytes Electrolyte Solution, and (2) perception of the students on the use of guided inquiry learning methods in materials and Nonelectrolytes Electrolyte Solution Research carried out using quasi-experimental design and descriptive. The study population were high school students of class X Lab. UM. The samples obtained by cluster random sampling technique to obtain that X-3 class is taught with guided inquiry method and X-5 class is taught by conventional methods. Instruments used were the instruments of RPP and BLM treatment and measurement instruments such as observation sheets, questionnaires, and about learning outcomes. Learning outcomes data were analyzed using t test with SPSS 16.0 for windows. The results showed that: (1) There is a different student learning outcomes that are taught by methods of guided inquiry learning with students who are taught by the conventional method with an average value of 83.19 for the class of guided inquiry and 74.56 for the conventional classroom, (2) Perceptions of students towards learning with guided inquiry method showed 32% of students responded very positively, 55% of students responded positively, and 13% of students responded very negatively.
