This dissertation is a functional characterization of UVRAG and ANP32B in the immune system using gene deficient mice. Focus 1: UVRAG is a putative tumour suppressor with potential roles in autophagy and endocytic trafficking. Despite a plethora of in vitro data, the in vivo role of this gene remains poorly understood. Here, we report the generation and characterization of the T cell specific UVRAG deficient mice. These mice exhibited normal T cell development but impaired homeostasis in the periphery, rendering them unable to clear LCMV infections.
