This study focused on the use of mobile health and wellness applications (apps) in chronic disease management. There are over a hundred thousand health apps available for download on public app stores. These include apps in key areas for chronic disease management such as exercise and diet. However, there is little evidence on patient use of health apps to support self-management of chronic conditions.
