Tratamientos profilácticos anti-saprolegniasis para mejorar la sobrevivencia embrionaria en ovas de trucha arco iris ( Oncorhynchus mykiss )

During the incubation of eggs of Oncorhynchus mykiss , one of the biggest problems that arise is the attack caused by opportunistic fungi in the water. Fungi belonging to the genus Saprolegnia are the most common pathogens that attack the eggs of salmon. Saprolegniasis manifested by forming a coating of hyphae that are located on dead eggs, moving quickly to the nearest healthy eggs, cause losses between 20 and 100%. Implementing preventive health measures and in aquaculture, play an important role in preventing and controlling disease, preventing pathogens from attacking eggs, larvae and fish healthy. To study the effect of prophylactic treatments on the incidence of saprolegniasis and hatching survival of eggs of O. mykiss, in culture facilities three treatments were implemented: manual cleaning, formalin (250 ppm) and salt (NaCl, 30,000 ppm). Once hatched larvae in each bioassay determined the survival rate. Later the larvae were taken under each treatment and larval mortality was determined after 15 days. Prophylactic treatments able to improve between 10 and 20% embryonic survival to hatching in the control. The salt and formalin treatments led to a better response. No significant differences (P>0.05) between treatments in terms of larval mortality at 15 days of hatching. The salt treatment is recommended, not only for the results obtained in relation to embryonic and larval survival, but also because of its low cost and low toxicity to both fish and humans.Durante la fase de incubación de ovas de Oncorhynchus mykiss , uno de los mayores problemas que se originan lo constituye el ataque producido por hongos oportunistas presentes en el agua. Los hongos pertenecientes al género Saprolegnia son los patógenos que atacan más frecuentemente las ovas de salmónidos. La saprolegniasis se manifiesta mediante la formación de un revestimiento de hifas que se ubican sobre las ovas muertas, trasladándose rápidamente a las ovas sanas más cercanas, causando pérdidas que oscilan entre 20 y 100%. La implementación de medidas sanitarias y profilácticas en acuicultura, especialmente en la piscicultura, juegan un papel importante en la prevención y control de las enfermedades, impidiendo que agentes patógenos ataquen ovas, larvas y peces sanos. Con el fin de estudiar el efecto de los tratamientos profilácticos sobre la incidencia de saprolegniasis y la sobrevivencia a eclosión de ovas de O. mykiss, en instalaciones de cultivo: se implementaron tres tratamientos: limpieza manual, formalina (250 ppm) y sal (NaCl, 30.000 ppm). Una vez eclosionadas las larvas en cada bioensayo se determinó el porcentaje de sobrevivencia. Posteriormente se tomaron las larvas sometidas a cada tratamiento y se determinó la mortalidad larval después de 15 días. Los tratamientos profilácticos lograron mejorar entre 10 y 20% la sobrevivencia embrionaria a eclosión en relación al control. Los tratamientos de sal y formalina condujeron a una mejor respuesta. No se observaron diferencias significativas (P>0,05) entre los tratamientos en lo que respecta a la mortalidad larval a los 15 días de la eclosión. El tratamiento con sal es el más recomendable, no solo por los resultados obtenidos en relación a la sobrevivencia embrionaria y larval, sino también por ser de bajo costo y poco tóxico, tanto para peces como humanos
