After a friend gave him an heirloom variety of seed, he did research at his local library and discovered there were several thousand varieties of beans. Since then, he has been involved in seed saving. - Monsanto Supports Biosafety Protocol The director of agricultural affairs at the Monsanto chemical company recently said his company supports a biosafety protocol to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). Chester Dickerson said, "Clearly a biosafety protocol is needed; you just have to look to the United States.
