It is however debatable as to whether the need to preserve microbial biodiversity was given enough priority, when one considers the relative numbers of species of microorganisms as compared to higher plants and animals in any habitat. UKFCC Meeting on Aquatic Biodiversity The UKFCC held a meeting on "Aquatic Biodiversity" at the Institute of Freshwater Ecology Windermere Laboratory on September 25th.
