For many years, Fibre Reinforced Plastic constructions have been called "promising" or "the solution of the future" in shipbuilding. Today, one can safely state that this technology is here to stay, being successfully, applied in almost all mobile structures in which high performance and low fuel costs are essential. Several applications in cars, buses, trains, containers and ships show that the benefits brought by the sandwich technology are technically and economically, attractive not only to aeronautical engineering, but for other sectors as well. The weight saying opportunities offered by FRP Sandwich structures can nosy be utilised even better by using the research results obtained within the Nordic NoKoS research envelope
