The increasing demands for "real-time" on-line monitoring of various biological, environmental and process samples and the need to measure concentrations of individual compounds at the same time require robust instrumentation with high separation efficiency and sensitivity. Summation of total compound amount, quick tests with unselective markers or antigens and development of computer simulation will need on-line and real-time multi-component analyses. Encouraging results have already been obtained in coupling of both a commercial CE instrument and real-time working on-line CE instrument to pulp and paper processes.The system set-ups will help to oversee actual changes in production.
