Introduction Exposure to green spaces is expected to have positive health effects, but often means higher exposure to pollens and moulds, which have been shown to increase respiratory symptoms in children in both the short and long term. On the other hand, trees can decrease air pollution levels, which are also adversely associated with respiratory symptoms. Objective To further our understanding of the balance between pollen and air pollution, we analyzed the association between respiratory symptoms in children aged 3-14 years and the percentage of green spaces within 500 m of their residence.
