Higher bed temperatures, higher dry solid contents in black liquor and mill closure have lead to major changes in the flue gas and superheater deposition chemistry in recovery boilers. The effects of these trends on superheater corrosion and materials selection are considered with reference to literature data, and to the results of materials testing in boiler and in laboratory
