Electrospinning is a method for producing sub-micron and nanofibre webs. These fibrous materials have large surface area and high porosity. Their properties can be adjusted by the choice of material(s) as well as varying electrospinning parameters and setup construction. Electrospun fibres can be used in medical applications - especially tissue engineering, drug delivery and wound care. This paper gives an overview of use of electrospun materials in medical applications, and examples with more details will be given in conference presentation
