The Engine Technology Group at VTT Energy has for many years systematically invested in expanding their capabilities for advanced analysis of exhaust emissions from motor vehicles. A wide range of components extending well beyond the normal, legislative analysis can be determined in ambient conditions representing the real-world climate, including the one in the Nordic countries, where the temperature can frequently fall below -20 °C. This proficiency has attracted customers even from abroad, and the competence of the group has already been put on trial in several assignments dealing with the performance evaluation of different future motor fuels and emission control concepts, especially in cold ambient conditions
