The ABC mathematical model of fume formation is based on aerosol dynamics. The model takes into account the mechanisms of gasphase chemical reactions, homogeneous and heterogeneous condensation, agglomeration, and deposition. Researchers can use the model to estimate the size distributions and deposition rates of fume particles and vapors in a kraft recovery boiler. Model results are compared with fume measurements made in an operating recovery boiler in a mill
