Landscape III is a reworking of a 1970 composition of the composer. It employs thematic and harmonic materials derived from his 20th century studies for two violins. Landscape III is modal and lyrical in nature. Numerous polychords and sudden harmonic shifts highlight the entire piece. The solo part (Soprano or Tenor Saxophone) is full of ornamentations and virtuoso passages based on the sonorities of the String Ensemble. Landscape III is dedicated to the Greek saxophone virtuoso Theofilos Sotiriades
