The purpose of this paper is to present the scenarios and methodology to be used in case studies concerning offshore wind power and offshore DC grid in the Baltic Sea in 2030. The carefully selected scenarios of wind power and offshore DC grid structure for wind power transmission are implemented in a Baltic Sea region power system network model. The network model, used in the study for the first time, is with very detailed representation at parts and more generalized at some parts. This paper describes the grounds and motivation for the combined model, as well as the power flow case study procedure to be performed in conjunction with offshore grid optimization and generation dispatch simulation.
