This chapter focuses on the wind integration studies - what is studied and how the studies are made. The chapter is subdivided into sections covering the main set-up for the studies, methodologies and results. A look on recommended practices and future work is made. Wind integration studies look at and how the variability and uncertainty of wind power will impact the reserves that power systems carry as well as scheduling and efficiency of other power plants. Impacts on the transmission grid adequacy and power adequacy (capacity value of wind power) can also be assessed.
