JENIS, MAKNA, DAN FUNGSI PERIBAHASA MAANYAN (TYPE, MEANING, AND FUNCTION OF THE MAANYAN PROVERB)

Type, Function, and Meaning of the Maanyan Proverb. Background of the research is to explore moreabout Maxim Maanyan oral literature which is preserved so that the need to survive and thrive inthe community, particularly in the South of the village, subdistrict of South Barito Regency, CentralKalimantan province. The purpose of this research is to find the type, meaning and function of theproverb Maanyan language. The research method used is descriptive qualitative approach and researchersas main instruments. In this research was appointed five informants consisting of community leaders.Data from informants collected by observation and interview techniques, then classified, analyzed, andinterpreted.The results of this research show that the proverb Maanyan has 3 types namely (1) Antuhanor expression that consists of: (a) antuhan or expressions with parts of the body, (b) antuhan or expressionwith a sense of antuhan, (c) or an expression with colours, (d) antuhan or expressions with naturalobjects, (e) antuhan or expression with a name of an animal, (f) antuhan or expressions with plant parts.(2) Panginturen or Parables that are subdivided into: (a) panginturan or parable using erang awe, (b)panginturen or parable using iyalah panginturen, (c) or a parable using kakala or kala. (3) the kalakartaliwakas or tip-petitih. The meaning of the proverb is found in Proverbs Maanyan language refers to thevalue that is contained in the meaning of the proverb itself, namely: (1) remember to God, (2) give thanksto the Lord, (3) dedicated to parents, (4) prudence in action, (5) have a sense of shame, (6) maintain oral,unyielding (7), (8) likes consulted and mupakat, (9) consistent and unswerving stance, (10) intropeksiand introspective, (11) responsible (12), be honest, living pillars (13), (14) have high expectations, (15)hard work and diligent, humble (16), (17) are good at adapting, sincere (18), (19) firmly, (20) Pleasehelp and cooperation. The function of proverbs Maanyan, namely: (1) Maxim penenaman as a religiousnorm Maanyan, (2), counsels as Maanyan Proverb that contains (a) advice to respect old people, (b)advice to achieve education, (c) to avoid advice arrogantly, (d) advice to think before acting. (3) theProverb as a satire, which consists of (a) satire to people who like to talk about the disgrace of others, (b)a satire to the person who does not have a permanent establishment, (c) innuendo for slackers, (d) satirefor people who eat a lot of.
