128 p.Thesis (Ph.D.)--University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 1997.A post-column CL detection method for capillary electrophoresis (CE) was developed in which the capillary effluent was collected on a membrane which had been coated with bis(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)oxalate, a CL reagent. After the CE run, the CL reaction was initiated on the membrane by applying hydrogen peroxide, a scientific CCD camera imaged the resultant CL emission, and an electropherogram was reconstructed. This post-column detection scheme decouples the separation parameters from detection and allows longer lived CL reagents to be used with fast separations.U of I OnlyRestricted to the U of I community idenfinitely during batch ingest of legacy ETD
