118 p.Thesis (Ph.D.)--University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 1999.Simulations and experiments have been carried out to demonstrate that the proposed method is effective in generating images of high spatiotemporal resolution from a time-varying object with periodic or quasi-periodic motion. Specifically, it has been shown that the proposed method can handle complex signal variations with localized motion, nonrigid-body motion, and motion in arbitrary directions. An important application of the proposed technique is spatiotemporal imaging of the beating heart. Other potential applications include functional imaging and interventional imaging.U of I OnlyRestricted to the U of I community idenfinitely during batch ingest of legacy ETD
