247 p.Thesis (Ph.D.)--University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 1999.The differential cross section for two-body deuteron photodisintegration was measured at photon energies between 0.8 and 4.0 GeV and center-of-mass angles qcm = 37°, 53°, 70°, and 90° as part of CEBAF experiment E89-012. Constituent counting rules predict a scaling of this cross section at asymptotic energies. In previous experiments this scaling has surprisingly been observed at energies between 1.4 and 2.8 GeV at 90°. The results from this experiment are in reasonable agreement with previous measurements at lower energies. The data at 70° and 90° show a Constituent counting rule behavior up to 4.0 GeV photon energy. The 37° and 53°...
