Ever wonder how great it would be if you can make a cartoon from everyday images? Image smoothing focusing on structure extraction aims to smooth out the texture of a given image while keeping the main structure. The extracted image structure can facilitate many interesting computational photography applications, including detail enhancement, high dynamic range imaging, and non-photorealistic rendering. The image submitted is a combination of an original photo of a mosaic wall on the top and the smoothed image by applying the structure extraction method.
