Dr. Naomi Lynn was President of Sangamon State University and Chancellor of University of Illinois Springfield from 1991 to 2001. She also served as Interim President of Lincoln Land Community College. Lynn played a significant role in the merger of SSU with the University of Illinois in 1995 and later when University of Illinois Springfield changed to a full four-year institution. She discusses the beginning of her career as a woman and a minority in the academic field of political science and public administration, which had been dominated by men.
