This work investigates a scheme for the attachment and detection of biomolecules to the polycarbonate surface of a compact disc (CD) using simple surface chemistry protocols, while employing standard CD drives for detection. The ultimate goal of our work is to employ such a scheme, especially the blue microspheres used as labels, along with a microfluidic compact disc platform compatible with conventional CD drives in an effort to create portable, easy-to-use, and low-cost devices for biosensing and medical diagnostics.unpublishednot peer reviewedU of I OnlyUndergraduate senior thesis not recommended for open acces
