Magnetic properties of He3 at low temperatures

The coefficient of self-diffusion of magnetization and the magnetic susceptibility of pure liquid He3 have been measured using the method of spin echoes at pressures to 28.2 atm and temperatures down to 0.025°K. In all cases the self-diffusion coefficient increases with decreasing temperature below 0.3°K. The temperature dependence becomes T^-2 at the lowest temperatures in agreement with the Landau model of a Fermi liquid. Qualitative agreement between the theoretically predicted and measured diffusion coefficients is observed over the entire range of pressures. The susceptibility is found to become independent of temperature at sufficiently low temperatures, except possibly at the highest pressures, in agreement with the Landau model.
